Since the 3rd gen Engine..*pics added! Warning to dial-up*

Here's my dyno sheet from Saturday:

I had them print out the new dyno vs. the old one, just to show the changes.

Mods are headers, cams, exhaust, and intake.

Karen

Thumbs up WoW

I'm impressed. What kind of headers, Karen? Just curious....

Nice car, nice HP/TQ numbers!

Jim

PS - Justin, it's camshafts, not gears... and it's a 5spd manual.

Yep, 5-speed.

I have the j-spec and MazdaSpeed intake & exhaust camshafts, the Bosal Probe/Mx-6 long tube headers, and a Magnaflow exhaust. There's still some work to do, but it's already a lot more peppy than it was!

23 hp is a decent increase...and like you said it's definatly peepier!
Are you gonna run the 1/4 mi again to see E.T. with the mods? If so, let us know!!!
Just 1 Q...What is the difference in drivability...just for intrest sake...do you find the power is still as linear and across the entire powerband?
Anyways...props

good gains, but I noticed a few things:

dip between 3200-3700rpm... not good
slope off at 6000rpm

thanks for helping me further conclude that the FS-ZE intake manifold is worth it and helps smooth out the curve for a broad, yet linear powerband

the more dynos we get (from anyone), the better research info we get to know what works and what doesn't

>I plan on running it again as soon as the track opens up. I'm shooting for low-mid 16s because I still need some practice launching

>>It seems to have a lot more power everwhere. I still need to drive it for a few more days to see what really has changed. As always, with all the new mods it's gotten, I've sorta been bumped from the driver's seat! But it's all good.

>>>No performance cat right now, I need to look into one of those. Right now we just have 1 resonator and the Magnaflow muffler. It sounds really mean too! Not ricey at all.

>>>>I'm not sure about the dips and stuff in the graph. It seems as though all of the 'low' hp cars have some sort of strange dip and wiggle on this dynojet. *at least it is not as 'wiggly' as the stock dyno*

>>>>>I looked at the intake manifold, but for $530 it just wasn't in my budget. We are looking into getting ours extrude-honed. I'll keep ya posted on that, of course!

Did I miss anything?

from reading on the board, don't get it extrude-honed. something about it just won't work and be worth the money. so you are running no cats right now, do you have a CEL
