2.0L ECU Program

I have a connection that can get me pretty much full access to anything at a Mazda service shop. Is it possible to program my ECU with the MP3/MazdaSpeed program to up the horsepower? I know the MP3 has an additional 10-15hp just based on the ECU program, but is it flashable to an PR5 ECU? Additionally, what sort of changes should I expect in my cars performance with the upgrade (and future upgrades like intake and cat back)?

yes you can have your p5 ecu flashed with the mp3 code. It is nowhere near 10-15hp though. Expect maybe 5whp above 4500rpms.

ask your friend if he can flash my p5 ecu with the MSP maps please.

Are the MSP maps and the MP3 maps similar....which would I be better off with?

If I can get mine done, I'll see what we can do. I just talked with him and he said there might be some problems with a few of the sensors if the ECU is re-programmed, but he's looking into it.

MSP is mapped for boost, if your running NA then you'll be enevn richer that stock, which is already to rich for its own good
