if the dyno pic shows you'll see 393whp on an SR20DET with NO internal modifications!
An SR20DET is built to handle 400hp from the factory. Regardless, 393whp is not 400+whp, so there!!!

Just referring to the vast majority of cars. There are always exceptions

FWIW, Dave Lazier's motor was NEVER rebuilt after it was originally built, and was putting down over 500whp. On a regular BP, 400whp is achieveable on totally stock internals, head, etc.
I'm not familiar with Dave Lazier. I believe that this is very possible on a BP-ZET engine, but would be very suprised otherwise.

the old Cosworth YBD had ~400 hp and it came FROM THE FACTORY like that...another 2L. That wasnt on race fuel..
Came from what factory? The Cosworth factory? I don't even know what a YBD is, unfortunately.

400hp isnt easy, but its not magic either. The simple fact is that this guy is retarded. If he ever did come out to a meet, the first words out of his mouth would be, "im running low boost for the street." which equates to, "i'm full of ****, laugh at me."
I'm not saying that 2.0L engines can't make 400hp. I'm just saying that it would be hard to make a protege FS-DE 2.0L engine make 400hp. SR20DET and 3S-GTE engines are more easily capable of this hp output.

Of course it isn't magic. People take 1.8L honda engines and pump out 800+ horsepower in drag cars. I'm just saying that with stock tranny and stock internals, I don't believe it.

as a matter of fact i have dyno results
the purpose for the invitation is for even just one of you sceptics to see it in person
also i dont have any problems with that person or persons driving the vehicle
also at that time if you would like to see results of the dyno no problem
on top of that if you pick a meet where we can dyno it on the spot ill pay for it just to make my claims really stick
do you think i cant make some grafts up and show the power levels
this talk of low boost and anyother **** is an exuse for you not to meet
i dont have the problem believing it
if you would like to see a really neatly designed turbo p5 putting out serios numbers then maybe youll accept this offer

installshield your not bieng an ******* just a little ignorant!
i didnt start doing this yesterday

later

Petersburg, PA a few miles from my old house...(Just kidding, there is like 6 houses there and a dirt road)

I am not claiming that you started doing this yesterday, and obviously the tech guys on this forum didn't either...

Your **** is simply not adding up, I still don't see how someone seeing your car is going to equal 440hp. One of us driving it won't either, it will probably run harder than a stock P5 (I would hope) but that does not mean it is creating 440hp. Jesse mentioned the G-series gearboxes pledging allegiance to the underground with a N/A tuned Speed Challenge cars too, which create around 230+whp with no where near that amount of torque. You mentioned above about someone not knowing the difference between torque and hp and which guts the box. Torque will kill it (Or extremely high revs, but that is a different story), and 440hp Turbo'd engine will make a lot more torque than a high compression tuned N/A engine...Plus you added a the limited slip which will put even more stress on the box...please clear this up???

! Ya gotta rev it pretty high to get that power though. Pretty steep curve. Guess it's the turbo setup. Heheh crazy though!

A little math...

I am late as hell to this thread...After doing some math I realized a few things:

1. Nick is close to what he needs, but may not quite be there..

2. What type of boost he will need to run with the type of fuel flow he needs.

Fuel setup
2 Injectors at 36.73 lb/hr (386 cc/min)
4 Stock Injectors at 26.6 lb/hr 280 cc/min)

FMU (this would have to raise the fuel pressure to 120 PSIG, at which 10 PSI of boost or more would be the match)

Here we go

Horsepower * B.S.F.C
__________________

No. of Injectors * 0.80 <---Duty Cycle of 80%

Doing this twice (once for the two 386cc injectors, and once for the four stock injectors) I added the results:

440 HP * .22
____________ = 36.73 lb/hr

2 * 0.80

440 HP * .32
____________ = 26.6 lb/hr

4 * 0.80

Taking the two B.S.F.C's and adding them, we get:

0.22 + 0.32 = 0.54

Brake specific fuel consumption (B.S.F.C.) should be .45 to .50 for naturally aspirated engines, .55 TO .60 for supercharged engines, and .60 to .65 for turbocharged engines.

By these calculations, Nick is in the ballpark of supercharged applications, but shy of the turbo range for the HP he's talking about.

Note: B.S.F.C. = How much fuel you are using per HP per hour (in lbs).
