AEM or INJEN INTAKE

I've dont some research and AEM only sells a short ram intake and INJEN sells a cold air intake for a '03 MP5 A/T. Which intake is better for performance? Any other suggestion on performance parts would be great, such as headers.

Thanks

Both will give minimal gains. Personally, I'd choose the short ram. It's easier to install. Also, you have easy access to the filter. That being said, I think the injen looks nicer.

Thanks Esteban Toledo, but do you know if there is any real difference between those two?

The general consensus is that they'll both provide similar gains.
However, some will argue that cai is better. Both injen and aem have dyno #s for their intakes on their websites. The injen's dyno , however, was from an mp3.

Do you know any other performance parts worth buying?

Intake, header and exhaust sounds good. Wagner motorsports is producing a header. Someone just dynoed their car with it. I believe they had a 7whp gain. You may want to replace your 1st cat w/ a high flow cat. It's also suspected that the midpipe (the pipe that connects the two cats) is a major restrictor. This may help you: http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showt...ghlight=wagner

I imagine they'll be availbable soon. www.essentialspeed.com have some. However, they're much more expensive.

Wagner's headers sound great. I'm a newbie racer and I don't really know any racing terminology so any info that would make my car better would be great.

Stick with the short ram, it's cheaper, safer, and negligible difference if any in gains from the injen...

Can you get me some prices for those items...and another thing, do you know what a good time for the 1/4 mile is for a MP5 A/T and if you do know the time what items did that person have on his car. Thanks

i just installed the AEM intake in my car and the throttle response is awesome now goin through the gears. Also it sounds almost like i got a turbo under the hood at idle and its very throaty at acceleration.
