another annoying Mazdaspeed exhaust question

I'm considering making a custom catback including a mazdaspeed muffler instead of getting a racing beat or bosal.

My question is how much does the muffler cost. The one for sale on corksport is 528... which sounds rediculous for a muffler. I'm wondering what is the cost of one through the dealership and I also want to make sure I'm purchasing the correct product. I have no interest in the OEM sport sound exhaust.

so to the ms fuffler owners, whered you get yours and how much did you pay?

thanks.

I at first found it annoying, but you can actually control the noise it makes. With the throttle at just the right positiion (not accelerating, not decelerating) it's dead silent. Put your foot into it though, and she screams.

Maxx,

I have a few questions about the MS muffler. It is an axle back or it is just the muffler? If the muffler is an axle back piece then what is the diameter? Last but not least how much was the mo fo.

Thanks,

Bean.

thanks

195 is more in my current price range, i just dont have the money for a full cat back right now and the ms muffler looks great

i kinda like it loud, and i think the cruise control and stereo will help with the noise

i'm from the home of the muscle car, a buzzy little muffler has no effect on the community

Bean,

The muffler is an axle-back, with the same pipe diameter as stock, but exits in a 2.5" tip. Not rice looking at all. Slick as hell!

I paid $300 CAD for mine, but they should be cheaper now.

Have a look here for pics.

Thanks for the info Maxx. Unfortunately I have 2.25" piping right now except for the piece that goes over the axle, which happens to also be the most important piece. Anyway that is what you get when you try and cut corners, and do not go to a shop that knows what the hell they are doing. I am looking into the HKS hi-power exhaust right now, but we will see.
