B&M short shifter kit come with everything?

I'm planning on getting the B&M short shifter for my P5, but was wondering if "the package" comes with all essential parts? I mean do I need to buy anything in addition to what's included in the box? I've seen that some of you guys use KartBoy bushings... is it necessary? What does it do? Any special instructions I should give to the aftermarket shop that will be installing it for me? Thanks for your help and have a great day!!

Everything you need comes with the B&M short shifter kit. Your stock **** and boot will fit just fine. As for the Kartboy shifter bushings, all they do is help to stiffen to feel and take out extra "play" so the shifts are more precise. For $25 I think it's worth it. They are hard plastic versus the stock rubber one.

What kind of material does the B&M shifter bushing come with? Is the B&M or Kartboy shifter bushing that is hard plastic? Thanks

I don't know any technical names, so bear with me please. The B&M kit has 3 pieces: the metal shift lever that replaces your stock one, grease for installing the new shift lever, and a metal retaining clip to prevent the shift boot from coming up too high. The Kartboy bushings are just 2 hard yellow plastic bushings, I believe there are pics on www.kartboy.com. The B&M kit has instructions, but for more help check out Gro Harlem's website (I think that's right). Use Kartboy's website for installation instructions, as the bushings don't come with any! Both kits do come with stickers, too!!!

Why not just get the whole Kartboy Kombo?

the shifter bushings are a urethane bushings that is installed on the shifter stay that mounts to the transmission not the shifter itself.

any questions please email me

for you Tom@Kartboy

I think it would be very helpful in your instructions if you added a comment saying how the stock shifter bushing is just one piece, and not two. I had the idea it was 2 because of the new bushings, and only when I realized it was 1 piece was it easy to pop out! Just my 2 cents

Would the short shifter and the kart boy bushings fit a 1.6l's tranny?
