Question

How did you know it didn't seal? Did you hear or see it leaking...was it louder or what///

It was fine for about 3 months. But I started hearing it leak. I had the same problem with my old trucks headers & dual flows. I could hear the exhaust leak when 1 of my headers got loose & then later when one of the pipes got loose. Its not hard to hear the difference under your car. Especially when you pull up to a drivethrough & have your window open & can hear it reflecting off the wall into your window.

The Bosal sounds like the way to go. I want a deep sound, not that high-pitched buzzy crap. Deep and mellow. Any vid clips of this exhaust? That'd be great

And what's available for headers out there?

Sux, no vid clips....but there is a pic of the fitment at the begining of this thread....its my ride....and this exhaust sounds great. if you are even concerned with the sound levels INSIDE your car for long trips and the like...at 70MPH its hardly even noticable....above that it starts to be.....I love it...its not to loud...just right.....and the tone is a nice throaty growl. As my son said "it doesn't sound like a pissed off bumble bee like those civics do"!

No, its NOT a bomb muffler with a silencer....its just a high flow muffler.....

well I don't have a sound clip of it...and don't have a way of capturing one either....however....I thought real hard to think of a car that you may have heard before that its similar to....and something sprung to mind.....

the Old Jags with inline 6's and MG's had a similar sounding exhaust note to them. Low and growly......NOT the pissed off bumble bee honda exhaust note that is so familiar to us all. :{D

Thumbs up My two cents

The Bosal's I've heard sound good. Deep sound not loud. My reservation is that they seem to produce a loud "drone" sound inside the car. Does anyone else's do this? At 65mph, I can't hear myself think. Again this is not the loud exhaust but a definate loud drone. What is everyone else's opinion???

MKDXXX....at least in MY car....at 65 and even 70 the level is fine....my tunes are usually the major source of noise when I am in the car alone anyway.....lol.....but once you start cruising at higher speeds....like 80 or so....I agree with you, the drone starts to get up there....but then....when do you ever cruise for LONG periods of time at those speeds. even out here in the boonies we can't do that much. THE MAN tends to keep that in check...and you KNOW I am not talking about our freindly moderator either!

Sorry, I haven't followed this thread from the beginning, but do you guys have the silencer that Bosal makes for the chameleon mufflers? I have one installed and it reduces the volume just enough for me (and my wife ) without changing the sound of the exhaust. Also, some Dynamat or similar sound deadening material in the trunk above the muffler could really cut down on the interior noise.

good suggestion

I am bothered by drone at 65mph. Its pretty damn loud! This car has the 2'tip and not the 4". Maybe by putting the tip out past the the bumper it would be better. I don't know if I believe this but its worth a shot. The 2" tip lets it vent about 2-3" in front of the bumper. I am waiting to see what the longer tip will do. I don't know if this pipe has the silencer or not. If it doesn't I would be interested in getting one. the sound mat is a good idea also...where is that available???

The tip isn't likely to make any difference. If you didn't buy the insert that slides into the muffler, you don't have it. Instead of buying another tip, I would suggest buying the silencer. I have it, and it does reduce the volume noticeably without changing the sound of the exhaust.

You should be able to order it from the place you purchased the exhaust.

I just got my Bosal put on today. Took it over to a muffler shop and gave the guy $60 to do it. It's too freaking cold here to do it myself and I wanted it on. lol. It sounds really good, quiet at low rpms and idle, but when you open it up... I just turn up the music a bit to drown out the exhaust sound. The two 12's in the trunk are louder
