CAI in snow

ok, so if I install the Injen CAI will I have to take it off every time it snows, or will the splash guard protect against that? Thanks.

submerging the filter element in water (ie, driving thorough deep standing water) is your only concern. snow isn't an issue. you don't need to take it off.

there are guys here with CAIs and they're fine.

once you put it on....you are going to see that the filter is totally inclosed in a nice little cubby hole in your fender...and even the splash guard is a useless addition to the filter....not to mention it makes it about 10 times harder to put the filter on.....you have no worries about snow....other than its SLIPPERY AS HELL and your traction sucks... :{D

Cool, thanks for the info. So I shouldn't even worry about a splash guard? That'll save me $50.

My question is what about undercar washes when you go through an automatic carwash.

Sprays right up there right?

I've drove through some deeeeeeeeep water with the CAI and never had a single problem. I WAS very reluctant to do it but I said "oh well *** it..."

I mean like a good foot deep...
now if you let your car IDLE in deep water you could be in trouble. If you're driving through water it will be very hard for water to get in through the tiny holes underneath the fender cause the water is moving PAST the holes.
