Canadian MazdaSpeed Exhaust Folks

How many Canadians have the Mazda Sport Exhaust? and does anyone know the backorder status of them.

I just ordered mine yesterday from the dealership, they had no clue as to when to expect delivery.

I have one. I ordered mine in April and got it in a month. I heard there are batches of Mazdaspeed exhaust that don't have the logo ecteched on the tip, luckly mine is. Whoohoo.. Its good I love it.

You'll be waiting until Late July, or early August at best.

On that note, Maxx, do you still have the sound clips of the Mazdaspeed muffler? I'd reeeeeeeeeeeely like to hear it do its thang...

I was doing a seach for sound clips...does it sound anything like these?

You guys were right! I just got the exhaust Yesterday, July 27. So about 4 weeks

I like the exhaust very much! The sound only seems apparent once the car warms up. Not to loud, and at cruising speeds you don't really notice it is there.

Try going on a 3 hour highway trip, you might change your mind about it. But I really like mine, I just wish you could plug it up for long trips.

HOW MUCH?!?!

I'd love to have a Mazdaspeed exhaust on my protege.
I'm just wondering how much it cost, total, including parts and installation. I have a 2002 Protege ES, and I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Price is aroud 395$ and you can get it at the dealer. Install is fairly easy since its only 2 bolts. But I think the dealer charges 40$ for install. All the parts comme with mufller.(ie. muffler, 2 bolts, gasket)

It is loud at cruising speeds, so if you do alot of highway you might think twice about it. I went on a 3 hour trip to Qc city and I wanted to kill myself. I was going 120-135 km/h the whole way.

If you do a search you can find pics of the install on a sedan, they look slightly different (hint: they are longer). I have pictures up on imagestation but I cant get the link now. Like I said, a simple search will yield you many results.

I don't know what to get as for an exhaust, I'd like to see some knid of increase in HP rather than just the asthetic appeal. I was thinking about an axle-back. That way I could change back to stock if I were going on a long trip. However you wouldn't see and performance gains vs a cat-back system...

Kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place I guess...

Actually the cat-back systems boast up to 5 whp of gain(this is from the racing beat cat-back which is the only one I know which has a dyno for it) while the mazdaspeed axle-back claims around 3whp(You can find these results by doing a search in this forum). For the difference in price, only you can decide which is the better investment.

I paid $474 with taxes, plus $30 bucks to install in a Minute Muffler. It took the fellow 15 minutes. Longer to take the exhaust out of the packaging

I had to go out of town yesterday (only 2 hour round trip) I did not find the exhaust loud at all, windows up or down. In 5th gear it was a non issue. Really, I didn't even find the exhaust was apparent at cruising speed.
