Unhappy Can't find my engine!!!

Well at least I can't see the engine through all the dirt. Like I mentioned before this is my wifes Pro and soon to be mine. I'm getting ready to do some work on it but I don't think it has ever been cleaned.

It also looks like the last person to do an oil change on it (no not me) was not paying much attention to what he/she was doing when they filled it back up with oil. There is oil all over the engine and down into the spark plug holes.

I bought some simple green to try to clean up a bit but I wanted to check here first. How would you recommend I go about cleaning this pig pen up? In particular how do I get all the grime out of the spark plug holes?

Since I'll be working on it quite a bit I'd like to get it as clean ans possible.

Any suggestions?

I'd also like to know how to clean the mass air sensor and throttle body or I should just leave them alone.

If I get water in the spark plug holes is it ok to just blast them out with compressed air?

Gro Harlem,

How long till we can see some pics of your newly acquired Pro? What are your plans for it? I'm interested in the 91 LX's, mainly because I want to see what my 91 DX is missing out on....
