Corksport intake duct

Corksport intake duct
From corksport:
"The Cork Sport 'Power Series' Air Duct replaces the front portion of the fender well liner. The purpose is to bring in fresh/cold air to the chamber where the 'Power Series' and other intake systems locate the filters. This duct gives the intake system a direct source for air which decreased intake temps and increasing power. Gives you the full potential out of your aftermarket intake system. The piece is hand laid quality fiberglass with a black gelcoat finish."
The only problem is it's $79.00USD, which is > than $100 for me....It can't be too hard to fabricate something like that yourself, can it??

Interesting concept...what does the end that connects to the airbox (filter box) look like? Or, do they just disconnect the portion from it to the resonator and leave it with the round opening with this contraption?

I don't think that little slit is going to do much if anything for performance or even intake temperatures. Did you guys see the picture where it was on the car from the side?? It's not a sealed enclosure....it's an opening to a 3-walled chamber where the air has no disposition to force itself upwards into your filter. It would be different if there piece was a SEALED box and the filter from the CAI was SEALED so all incoming air through the slit had only one place to go...into the filter. THAT would be a performance gain.
I'd tend to think you could find a better way to spend $100cad.

Yeah, are you talking about the second pic??
It looks like it's all opened up by the part near the tow hook. Regardless, when the car is moving, it does still help air get into the section where the filter is.

i made this same setup out of my stock liner, three cuts and a bend and voila....same deally...i have no idea if it works or not, my current air path keeps it all cool enough, i figured this couldn't hurt..
