Couple Questions About Header and Exhuast Install

Ok the installation was a fun but gruling. Now that everything is done, i have a really big question. 1st thing i'll break down what i've done to the car. I installed a Bosal MX-6 header and a "catless" exhaust. I'm running straight pipe to a resonator and a MagnaFlow muffler. We get it on the dyno. I made 113whp and 107wtq. I got it out on the street. I went for a spin. Sounds nice, pulls harder. But my friend was following me, said that when i pinned it a puff of blue smoke came out????? I know that means i'm burning oil. Is it possible that since i'm nut running any cats this is the result. Please let me know....If it isn't i will be running a leak down test.

If it was a blackish blue, it was fuel smoke......If it was more of a white color, it was oil smoke........Duncan

black = fuel
blue = oil
white = coolant

Maybe you should check your plugs to see if oil is on them.

is it possible since i only have 1 O2 sensor hooked up, and no EGR that this is occuring. I've noticed the smoke after we installed the header and exhaust.

Is it possible that your new headers or exhaust system have some grease or something inside that's burning off? I have heard that sometimes mandrel-bent exhausts have some residual grease inside the pipes form where the mandrel-bending machine's lube got left behind.

This should burn off in a few miles, though, I'd think.

Keep an eye on it, but even without cats you shouldn't see any smoke...
