EGR valve
#17
i do want to try it myself, but like i said, i took a look and i'm not exactly sure which part is the egr, and i don't want to start taking things apart without being sure of what i'm doing.
maybe if anyone else has pics or more detailed instructions that could help out? i would love to get this taken care of asap...
thanx

on the back of the intake manifold on the lower driver side of it there is an alum. valve held on by two bolts. It has an electric motor on top with I think six or eight wires in a square plug attached.
when you clean it only clean the part labeled "valve" between the exhaust passages

Not sure about US models but in Canada the 99 1.6 with manual transmission never had an EGR valve. but if yours does the valve will look the same only it will be more to the back of the manifold.
