engine hesitation after Injen install

engine hesitation after Injen install
I just installed my Injen CAI on my 99 LX. It runs great except for one thing. When I push the throttle down just about half way and the engines between like 2000 and 3000rpm's, theres a noticable lurching or hesitation in the car. I already reset the ECU and let it idle for like ten minutes. Now it idles better than it did stock, but i still have the lurch. I'm not talking a violent lurch that threatens to throw me off the road, just a hesitiation in the engine. Dirt or dust on the O2 sensor? I saw some grime through the hole the O2 sensor mounted up to when i installed: i guessed it was the dust from the milling machines from when Injen manufactured the intake. Any suggestions?

i'll reply first because i know most people are tired of this. if you make a gasket where the Mass airflow sensor connects to the intake it will take care of 90 percent of the problem. the sensor also gets dirty very quickly so clean the sensor with a cotton swab. also if the air is too turbulent going past the sensor it will cause it. Some people have cut the tube and turned it into a short ram and have said that it takes the problem away, others have cut the sensor housing off the stock box and used that on the intake. I've tried everything so far, but nothing has taken the problem away 100 percent. i made a gasket and used the stock sensor bung and the problem is still there. i hope this helps you out. also if you use the search button you can find the 1000 pages on this topic

Also, a problem related to this thread. I kicked a CEL yesterday, and had to take it to the dealer (ICK). A stupid vacuum line from by the throttle body had come loose, and was affecting my performance and a myriad of other things. This might be related to the hesitation that you are speaking of. If you are curious which one I am talking about, it is the vacuum box that was placed into the stock intake right by the throttle body. On my kit, it relocates the whole thing to a place on the intake manifold.
Runs a lot better now, and it is noticeable.
