Flywheel Question
since there are similarities in the trannies and they are interchangeable....would the Lightened Flywheel from SRM Motorsports fit my 2000 1.6L Pro???also what about the heavy duty clutch??

Hmmm...
I don't know. The 1.8L (FP-DE) and 2.0L (FS-DE) engines for the 3rd Gen Protege are the same family. The 1.6L is a different engine altogether (ZM-DE). However, the 1.8L and 1.6L share the same transmission (F25M-R). The bell housings may be different, as well as the clutch and flywheel. Actually, the flywheel should be different due to the different power outputs of the engines. Corksport sells a Mazdaspeed light weight flywheel but lists the only engines it will fit as the 1.8L (FP-DE) and 2.0L (FS-DE).

the flywheel from srmotorsports for the 1.8 and 2.0l's will not fit.. but last time I emailed them, they were still working on the 1.6l flywheel, and it would be out sometime this summer (hopefully!). According to Edwin (aka, TheMAN) mazda motorsports sells a flywheel for the 1.6l engine, but you will have to call them and find out for sure, since it is not listed on their website. I'm waiting for the same thing bro... if you find any new info, post it here.
