Fried Auto Tranny

Fried Auto Tranny
Dealership checked my transmission today because it was slipping in Overdrive on Sat Night. They told me its fried and now they are waiting on a response from Mazda for the Warranty they said they were going to try and have it covered under warranty but they were saying that when i had the Jet Module tapped into the TPS sensor that would affect the Tranny. The guy kept asking me if it changed shift points and i told him no it was an air/fuel computer tapped into the TPS & MAF and it didn't work so i took it out. My friend who is knowledgable said there is no way he sees them being able to prove that to deny my warranty but right now i have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.

I can finally sleep better just heard back from the dealership and they will replace the Transmission this time only next time its on my dime. The dealership said he went to bat for me with the Mazda rep. Now i just have to suffer with a Pontiac Grand Am loaner until they get a new Trans which are on back order. But its all good now.

He was saying that when i had the Jet V force Module spliced into the TPS that caused the problem with the tranny. But of course the POS didn't work so i took it out and returned it. But i did ask my friend about that and he was saying that the TPS doesn't have that much to do with the Transmission. But if it happens again ill just convert it to Manual then.

I called the dealership today and asked about the Sport Mode Automatic and if possible to switch over to it. He is going to find out and let me know i said i would pay any extra if reasonable. Ill let everyone know.

Finally Got back my baby today. She is running fine no probs except i have to get used to her since they gave me a POS Pontiac Grand Am. Oh they didn't even bother to find out the cost for switching to the Sportmatic Transmission. They just said it involves changing quite a few things. I figure they just wanted to replace my tranny under warranty and not be bothered with that.

You've got it *** backwards. Closed loop mode is when the ECU is operating based on sensor inputs, and open loop is when the ECU defaults to fuel and ignition maps at wide open throttle. Most piggyback computers only work during open loop mode, or wide open throttle.

hey JPerezz21 i have the same problem with 2001 pro.
im about to take it in during next week, but first im about tto fix my exhaust leak from my header and put back my air box .
i would have take it in sooner but i was afraid that the dealer would of void my warranty
