front mount intake

front mount intake
No one is making a front mount air intake and I wanted get some opinions. Arospeed makes a universal front mount, so how hard would it be to find a shop to custom fab a pipe (would I need a bypass?), or use flexible hose? Anyone think of any options? Would the hp gain be similar to a standard CAI? Main reason is completely aesthetic. Let me know what you guys think.

I personally think that the Injen CAI is the best so far for our cars, unless you have the time to make a custom. I would think that it would be very challenging to make a front mounted intake because it would be too many bends (defeating the whole purpose of a better intake) and may still sit right in front or above the radiator fan.

Arospeed
David, I had the same idea. Since Arospeed also sells the pipes in 30, 45, 90 degrees, and the silicone connectors; you could measure what you need and make it yourself. I already have the Injen CAI, the only problem I see is the continuation through the front bumper area. Good luck! Keep us posted if it works.

www.Autotoys.com sells ractive CAI extentions for their shielded cones. 30 dollars last I checked (6 months ago) I dunno if it would work for other brands.
