Guess who's running Haltech EMS in his p5?

WRONG!!! ITS ME!!!

I had some local car friends over and 10 hours later the haltech is up and running......FLAWLESSLY

btw, for those who may hear of problems with cold starts and things like that....it was 22* when I was firing this up for the first time and it kicked and ran on the first try. It holds an idle better than stock and even seems lively under partial throttle.

now for the bad news.... my clutch is gone. Sadly, I'm going to be buying a new stage3 clutch so I won't be able to make any promises about stock clutch reliability with the WOMP....I just don't have the money to buy different clutches and swap them in and out.

I'll post pics and info as I can get it. I'm gonig to be tuning this for a nice NA map also and will be dynoing NA just to get an idea of what kind of gain I can get with just intake, header and F10X...should be interesting to see power curves and AFR's.

Good to hear! Can't wait to see the dyno runs.
Sorry about your clutch, shall we say a final few words?

Here lies my stock P5 clutch....damn you if you didn't chatter at me every morning and only last 21K miles.....good riddance to bad rubbish.

Hello Spec Stage 3R hybrid clutch with 450lb-ft holding ability....may you serve me better than my last unit.

I'm going to try to go sometime this week to the dyno to get a preliminary base-line map but I don't think it'll go well since the clutch slips above 4K rpms.

Karen, ....I've left lots of women waiting breathlessly for my words....I'm adding you to my list!! hahahaha

It's true, and the words they are waiting for: Yes, I'll close the door behind me!

Actually my first reply was going to be more offensive, but in the interests of keeping things clean around here I bit my tongue.
Anyway, we're getting a bit OT, aren't we? Someone post something useful please, before we shoot ourselves in the foot.

Great to hear(about the Haltech, not the clutch). Seems your getting ever closer to completing the almighty WOMP.

How are these and have you had any experience with them? I remember you saying stock clutch might not hold with the WOMP and came upon this one day, so I was just wondering if you knew how they were. If not, you say your getting one so I guess we'll just wait and see!

We actually talked to the guys at the Haltech booth at SEMA...they were pretty interested in the Focus...not the Protege!

As far as I know, I think the Haltech is for custom mapping for tuned engines. I dont beleive theyre designed specifically for different engines.
