headers, cams and pulleys for 1.6liter
just wondering if there are any headers cams and/or pulleys i can replace with my stock ones for the 1.6liter. if parts not "made" for protege 1.6 liter, are there any parts that will fit the protege? id like to get all of these parts around the same time to save money on labor so they can just do it all at the same time

no. no. no.
those dont exist for our 1.6 and probably never will..
save up and get turbo system (none but custom setups made so far, Barely Legal Transplants is working on it), exhaust, clutch.. you'll be all set.
Intake and Exhaust is all you can do, though, other than a turbo setup At least the car can be made to look nice.

well how bout if i swap the motor to a 1.8 liter protege engine? and what complications could i have in swapping this, hopefully minimal since its a protege engine? oh and would they actually have cams, pulleys and headers for the 1.8 liter?

The bellhousing is different, so even though the transmission is the same code the 1.6 tranny won't work with a 1.8 engine.. also the engine mounts are different.. and of course the ECU is different
You would be best off if you want performance to sell your 1.6 liter based car privately and buy an ES if you want the other engine, it would cost less than doing an engine swap and you get all the improvements of the ES while you're at it (bigger brakes, somewhat better interior, etc.) - plus, everything is being developed for the 1.8 or 2.0 only (with the exception of upcoming turbo setups for 1.6 liter).
But, simply put, you can't swap ANY engine into your DX or LX without ALOT of work.
