I've been having some problems with my alternator belts the keep ripping apart. Also every time i turn on the car this very loud noise starts and it dosent stop unitl i turn off the A/C. Anyone had this problem with there 99 protege LX. If so would you guys know the reason why this is happening.

 

my 99lx also needs alt belt, I just bought that car with 64K miles on so hopefully it will last after a replacement.
