help with motor swap..

I have a 99 mazda protege with the 1.6l engine in it.. I was wondering what it would take to swap the motor to a 1.8 or 2.0?? I know i will probably have to have the engine harness and maybe a different ecu but what mods is there to do to do the swap.. The car is auto if thats makes a difference...

Keep the 1.6L in there man. You're better off spending the money on a turbo kit, cuz the 1.6L is the most bulletproof engine of them all. If you really wanted to swap, you could do a 2.0L conversion but it's not going to yield great results and the engine isn't quite as responsive to mods. So all the money you'd spend on a swap to get you an extra 20HP or so could go towards a great turbo kit that would give you much greater results with half the hassle.
