Injen CAI / AEM Short Ram Question
#31
Injen makes Racing Division CAIs for the 1.6L, 1.8L, and 2.0L. The prototype for the 1.8L is sitting in my car and is currently undergoing California Air Resource Board (CARB) certification and may be available for sale in states other than California. The 1.8L CAI is almost identical to the 2.0L. The 1.6L is a totally different engine.
Go to my site to see the dyno results for the Injen CAI. There are also pics of the CAI. It sounds absolutely INCREDIBLE. I get looks from all of the modified Civic's and Integra's running around here. It is so much deeper than their exhaust systems... yet quieter and more refined. I was impressed with the results, plus it looks great!

5 hp and 6.2 ft-lbs increase across the board. Very nice. Throttle response is much better than stock. Notice how flat the torque curve is. Kudos to Mazda for that! And, yes, the stock power at the wheels is equal or better than most 2.0L's dynos we have seen on these boards. The more technical members were actually not surprised by that...

Jerry, any idea when Injen is going to release the 1.8L intake? There web site still lists the 1.6L Protege intake as a new release!
