You picked up 6whp and 7 lbs of tq with an intake

Thats very impressive. At least from my experience with intakes on these motors.

But remember the FS motor in the newer protege is stock 130 HP where the FS in the probe is 118 the tuning is very different as one they replaced the distributer with a DIS system which is more efficient and can run better and more accurate timing curves. My FP 1.8L makes 122 hp stock more than the FS in the probe by 4 hp and it will reve faster has a better rod ratio and uses less gas than the 2.0L it doesn't make as much power as teh newer 2.0L but I have beaten many a 2.0L protege just from teh fact my power band is more linear and gets there quicker than theirs.

The internals are identical except the drive for the disty. The pistons are the same comp. and the cams have the same grinds on them. The FS motor has been changed very very little since 93.

Thanks to some info from www.protegemp3.com, the person who had their Injen tested mentioned that this is a scam. They tested with the current Injen setup that everyone has and saw a measley 1WHP gain. Injen was a bit upset at the results and began experimenting with a smaller filter and a 2.75" secondary pipe instead of 2.25" (hence the run labeled 2.75" secondary). This yielded a 5-6HP gain that WILL NOT be seen by those who have already purchased an Injen CAI. Pretty shady stuff going on over there at Injen .

I talked to mark at Tripoint and he also told that they saw a mere 1 whp increase using the Injen CAI. I guess it was true....

Well I'm glad I got my AEM as well. I believe the AEM's last pipe is at least 2.5", maybe 2.75". I am NOT SURE if Injen is using the bigger pipe in the current intakes. I believe this dyno was done within the last few weeks/months. I suggest Injen owners start looking into this!
