Injen intake + Ractive heat sheild filter
Anyone else have this setup? I had mine on temporarily (it's a friend's) but it's made for a 3" pipe while the Injen is 2.5". It sounds deeper and more agressive sounding than with the Injen filter (which is crap, IMO). Where can I get a Ractive filter made for 2.5" piping, or where could I get a small adapter to make it 3"?

ok... i'm not trying to be a dick.. or a smart *** here. but... you really want to know how to avoid getting water in there? don't drive through anything questionable. pull over, sit for a minute, listen to the radio, read a book, read your newest edition of superstreet or turbo magazine. it's called "common-sense." i've had my injen on in floods, and never once sucked water up into the pipe, although i was scared shitless... first thing i did when i got home was pull the MAF to see if there was water up there around the bend. and nothing. don't drive through it if you don't think you can make it. bypass = robbing power imho. if the water is high enough to get on the filter and drown it, what makes you think it's not high enough to not get in the engine bay by splashing up, and getting right on that nice little bypass vavle that's opening up because you're filter is submerged?
and Negatize... you can still hear your intake? ;D my exhaust drowns out all sounds of it now.

You can buy the heat shields themselves off eBay. Only problem is the opening is 3". I don't know about the Ractive intake, but the Injen intake is 2.5". If you clamp the **** out of it, it will fit, but I wouldn't want something like that as a permanent solution.
