ok i got an intake tube from my friends civic, lol anyways- it conects to the mafs output and does a 90 degree bend down so with an air filter on it its about 8 inches above the splash gaurd ! now am i still losing hp or am i ok? or should i just go back to stock??????????

I'm assuming you are talking about the splash guard at the bottom of the engine bay itself? In this case, it would be similar to all the short ram intakes out there, usually yielding at least a couple hp or lb/ft. You might as well just use your butt dyno on this one...if it feels faster keep it, if it feels like you lost power, lose it.
