Sorry I haven't responded, but my car has moved to different aspirations
VA doesn't have smog testing so I wouldn't know

If your N2O loses pressure its not going to lean out its going to become more rich due to the fact its not spraying as much N2O
So how are people dealing with the idle problem resulting from the cam switch?

I've had the cam for about 2 years now, I passed with flying colors here in Washington. Granted it's not the same car/standards, but my numbers didn't really change at all, so I assume it would be roughly the same for you. I'm not sure how strict they are in NY though. Hope that helps.
