Just curious...at what mileage/months change PVC?
#3
For such a cheap part I would say every 30K miles and that would be changing it VERY frequently. I see most PCV's lasting 60-70K miles. 30K is a good service interval to change a lot of stuff, might as well do it all at one time. Here is what I do:
2500 - Oil change
6000 - tire rotation and balance
30,000 - coolant flush, transmission flush, pcv, belts (if needed), brake pads
50,000 - inspect water pump, inspect axles, inspect suspension
60,000 - replace timing belt, replace water pump, replace all belts (regardless of condition), again flush coolant and trans. Oil is also done now as it is every 2500 miles.
90,000 - shim valves, valve stem seals, inspect cams for wear, drop oil pan, inspect for metal.
It's a bit on the preventative side, but you'd be surprised how well my older cars run!
