KartBoy Shifter Bushings - Worth It?
Hi:
I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not the Kartboy shifter bushings are worth the install? I've got a B&M short throw kit in my P5 now and I find that the stock bushings aren't too bad but if I can make my shifts even better, then why not? Just wanted to get some feedback on these things.
Thanks,
Scott

This is where I bought my bushings from. Corksport.com also carries bronzoil bushings, and I believe (don't hold me to this) that they are these same ones produced by SRD.
These bushings replace the ones that are in our shift linkage between the shifter and the transmission. This linkage actually follows the gate pattern for shifting between gears.
The bronzoil bushings are different than the Kartboy bushings, in that the Kartboy bushings are installed on the torque brace for the shifter housing; it is completely independant of the shift linkage.
So the Kartboy bushings take the slop out of the brace holding the shifter, and the bronzoil bushings take out the slop in the shift pattern.

I didn't have my stock shifter on very long before swapping out for the Kartboy SS & bushings....but they seem to be fine and I've had no trouble with any of the parts. Kartboy has great customer service as well!

The Kartboy bushings make the shifter feel way smoother and nicer. When i got them they were liek $20 or something like that...not sure how much they are now, but this is one of my favorite mods i've done to any of my cars.
