he is running the unichip which he said has been re-tuned...maybe this is one of the things that was accounted for in the re-tune.

I'd love to see 260whp out of 10psi on a T25 but I dont think it's happening. My msp with intake, cat-delete pipe and 10psi only made 170-ish at the wheels. He'd have to come up with another 100whp from a fmic and unichip. Seeing as how stock unichip cars show 0hp gain (only smoother driveability) I find it hard to believe in.

It's ok to be slow if you're beautiful.
I don't have an excuse, other than an empty bank account.

No, they are not BAD, but moving the MAF to a point after the BOV is good.

The MAF (Mass Air Flow) meters the amount of air flowing past a certain point and the PCM calculates an appropriate amount of fuel accordingly. If the BOV is after the MAF, the MAF feeds an inaccurate reading to the PCM when the BOV is open and the A/F ratio is thrown off. This isn't a big issue if the BOV only opens between shifts. However, if the BOV is open during acceleration in order to limit the amount of boost, the engine will run too rich. Robbing power. Having the MAF after the BOV makes the MAF reading more accurate.

Okay. I wasn't sure about you MAF positioning. I agree with you on this, but I am still a big believer in a bypass for boost levels from 8-15psi (even higher if it is big enough). The bypass STILL makes the cool sound everyone wants, and if placed close enough to the turbo inlet will have the added effect of helping the turbo spool between shifts. Yes, a BOV does this too, but just don't under estimate the Bypass. I have seen NMRA Super Steet Outlaw Mustangs with hard tubing bypass systems with FAST EFI. These guys are running upwards of 30-35psi of boost both turbo and supercharged. Pluss they are trying to 2000+ hp to the ground on 10.5" tires with no boost controls.

My protege has touched 224whp @ ~10psi

Another guy here in PR has touched 487whp on his Microtech Protege5 overbored.
My friend in his FS powered 323 has done 580whp and later on 620whp but having a lot of problems with transmissions.

Well, you're just a slowpoke compared to your buddies, then, and:

"620whp but having a lot of problems with transmissions."

I wonder why?

he has an aftermarket turbo kit...not a stock msp turbo. I believe that number on 10psi from a T3.

First thing first...yes I have a Spool Turbo Kit on the Protege5, that dyno was @ 10psi aprox. Heres the dyno:

http://home.coqui.net/igdrasil/mpi/igdrasildyno9psi.gif

About the 620whp fs motor...

Just FYI, the STOCK transmission cannot handle 500whp on slicks on the dyno. They are using other gears that now doesnt hold for 620whp on the tracks, they actually hold for like 15-20 runs.
