There seems to be some confusion here. 195 will get you the MazdaSpeed axl-back system, right? Not a cat-back or anything like that. It sounds good but will not provide any power increase. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.

If you are seeking for performance go for racing beat cat back.
but looks, sounds, and money wise go for mazdaspeed exhaust
cat back performs better, axle back is just for fun~!
either you save ur money to get racing beat or buy sport exhaust like me
i love mine.

wrong, it's a muffler made for Mazdaspeed (there's a Mazdaspeed etching on the tip) by BOSAL.

it's made in South Africa!!!!

nothing to do w/ Racing Beat, which I think is the best exhaust system upgrade for the 3rd gen Protege right now

i hate to inform you but the mazdaspeed exhaust is made by racing beat. Mazdaspeed just had their logo put on the side. Bosal was originally supposed to do it, but racing beat beat their bid. And so came the 2002 Protege MP3 provided by Racing Beat. Then for 2003 Mazda decided to take the well famed MP3 and spice it up with a Turbo thus making the 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege still provided by Racing Beat. Go to www.racingbeat.com and they will explain this a tad bit better than me.

uhh no

As far as parts that comes with or sold at Mazda:
Racing Beat ONLY makes the muffler for the MP3 and MAZDASPEED PROTEGE

the "Mazdaspeed" muffler that is sold as an accessory from the dealer are made from BOSAL

All of Racing Beat's exhaust systems are made in Japan
All of Bosal's exhaust systems are made in South Africa

stop spreading ignorance

the part number for the Bosal exhaust is 0000-8M-C10
But the part number for the Mazdaspeed Racing Beat Exhaust is 0000-8M-C08

0000-8M-C10 is the Mazdaspeed sport muffler sold through Mazda dealers and made by Bosal for the Protege5.

0000-8M-C08 is the Mazdaspeed sport muffler sold through Mazda dealers and made by Bosal for the Protege Sedan.

They essentially differ in length because the P5 is shorter than the sedan. Otherwise they are the same.

odd, why does the 0000-8M-C08 Exhaust say racing beat on the side of it on the picture....Maybe Bosal made an error or maybe even mazda

i have the sedan muffler and it says MAZDASPEED on the tip.

the box that the muffler came in had labeled BOSAL as the maker, and said MADE IN SOUTH AFRICA.

that's what I have, and i'm sticking to it

and damn, why don't you do a search in the old threads, there are many many pictures of the sedan and the wagon muffler, and a lot of info about this

well its not like a really care, i think the mazdaspeed exhaust, regardless who makes it, is a very good exhaust. But the one i bought from Jeff Haas for my protege, i specifically asked for the Racing Beat Mazdaspeed exhaust and that is what i got with the part number 0000-8M-C08. My box did not say Bosal on it. It said Racing Beat.

Personaly, I think Jaster and The man need to go out back for a good ol' Texas Cage Match Mazda Brain Beatin' on each other so they can get it over with.
