No signal to stater mazda protege 2003
Hi
I have a mazda protege 2003.. if you dont understand something i am saying please ask...Im trying to explain everything.. About a 18 months ago my car decide not wanting to start i turn the key all the lights come on and i hear a clicking noise over from the glove boxs area.. Well i thought it was the clutch switch so i cut the two wires and tied them together.. Still nothing so i realize my ignition switch went out so i replaced car starts right up.. I kept the wires to the clutch switch the same.. well about 6 months later it does the same thing the ignition goes out so i replaced it.. now 6 months later it does the same thing..turn key lights come on and clicking from the glove boxs.. replaced it for the third time but it doesn't fixs the problem..so when i turn the key the lights come on and the clicking is coming from the glove boxs but no starting so.. I temp fixed my car i installed a push button.. ran a wire to starter to button then to battery...is there something else beside the clutch switch that it needs to start? thanks for any help...

See if you can figure out which relay is clicking in the glove box - it could be a bad relay / contacts corroded or something.
You should get a wiring diagram to make sure (or wait for a reply), but the ignition sources power to the starter relay, and the ground goes through the clutch and sometimes a neutral switch. SO wiggling the shifter could work. It is odd that you had to replace the ignition switch multiple times.
If you're careful when starting, you could fing the starter wire from ignition and put that right to how you've got a manual pushbutton now. So the 'pushbutton' is the start switch in teh ignition.
