Picture of EGR ports in intake manifold?

I have a '97 LX that has the typical rough running and my code reader throws some codes, pointing in the direction of the EGR or the EGR boost valve.

When I get in there to clean the EGR valve, I want to clean the ports in the intake manifold. Does anyone have pics of these ports?

Also, I'd like to confirm that if these ports are clogged that it can cause rough running once the car is warmed up.

One thing I tried is disconnecting the wiring to the EGR valve itself. The engine at idle instantly dies. Not sure if disconnecting those wires puts the EGR fully open or what happens, but I thought I'd mention that in case I have something a bit different from others I've read about here.

Thanks ahead of time for your help. A really good description of what to look for when I take the throttle body off the intake manifold would help if no pics are available. Also, what do you use in those ports to clean them out?

if you scroll down you will see the 1997 compatible part. imagine the ports with carbon buildup. use a trottlebody cleaner. this is only a temporary solution as carbon will only accumulate again.

Thanks for linking to the picture. For the part of the ports in the manifold itself (matching those on the valve body), do I use the same cleaner, or do I need a small brush, flexible wire, or something else to get the gunk out of there?

Looks like I also need to run my code checker on my other Protege. It is running fine for now, though. The light just came on this morning. I hope it's the rearmost oxygen sensor and not something more serious. :-)
