HiBoost just finished a new turbo kit for the 1.6L engines tat dyno'd 290whp on pump gas and stock automatic tranny. Wagner Motorsports also makes a 1.6L turbo kit that is used in a race car to take out porsche's vette's and vipers on a weekly basis. Neither company would steer you wrong.

Wait that dyno run was done on stock auto tranny!?
Whaaa I was under the impression that the tranny could only handle 160hp or less, im pretty sure mine is gong now, it slips all the way to 2700rpm instead of 2000 like it should. If anyone wanted to tap even alittle of that power they would need cyro treated everything. Atleast another $2000 in parts.

There goes Matty showing his 1.6L ignorance again.
The 1.6L AUTO tranny is the EXACT same tranny as the FS-DE with auto...Difference is the way the ZM-DE builds power. Because it is getting peak torque at a higher rpm level it is a bit easier on the tranny. I can say for sure though it still won't hold up to that kind of power for long if you are beating on it
As a point though, the ZM-DE does have a different Manual tranny...it is the F series, which is actually WEAKER than the G series found in the FS-DE 3rd gens. It is geared longer however, so it is probably a little better match to the ZM-DE

the 290 run was NOT DONE ON AN AUTO TRANNY it was a 5 speed in a 4th gear pull..
and hes macdaddy is right the auto tranny is the same tranny as the 2.0 but with a different bell housing and torque convertor, i have looked up part numbers to prove this and it is true, that is why lentec can beef up our trannys as well as the 2.0 trannies, its cause they are all the same..
ps .. the auto tranny is restricted to about 160whp.. my buddy danny just got the hiboost kit and his tranny is slipping running 8 psi..
