Race day!!!

Well I have decided to go see how well she'll do. I have everything on her at this point except the motor mount that I can do with out totally voiding the warrenty. I put the stock wheels and tires back on so that I don't eat up the 17s. You know, I think I like the stock 15s better then my 17s. Not only does it ride SOO much nicer I just like the looks. Any ways, I can tell a bid differance in power now that the 15s are back on. I can light up these twice as easy as I could before. But thats also a bad thing. I got to figure out the best way to launch this thing. I'm kinda excited.

practice in a parking lot before you run... but try to find a spot with some grip. the track will be alot stickier.

Man I hope it's stickier. I can burn the hell out of these tires. When I bought the 17s they were supposed to be lighter then my 15s. I weighed them yesterday and my 15s are 2.5 lbs lighter, with that and the fact that they are 195-55-15s they aren't that wide. Well at least if I spin to much It'll make me look like a bad ***. Well at least for 1st and 2nd gear anyways!

I always put the 16s on for "drag racing" (I'd put 15s on...but I don't have any for the P5 ha!)

Well hell, the only place in TX that gets rain! Yea that's right the track called off all racing do to the 1in of rain it got. Oh well another day, may be that was a sign for me not to do this. We might go in two weeks.

I have decided on getting rid of the 17s and going back to 15s with light weight wheels and z rated tires. The ride is WAAAYYYY better. I just don't know if I can get the handleing out of a 15 that I get with my 17s. I want an 8in 15 with like a 205 or 215/55/15. I think that would look beefy under the car.

Why not have both sets and swap out when you want to go racing?

Because the 17s ride to rough for me. I forgot how nice the protege rides on 15s. But I also don't want to hurt the performance to much. Hell I don't know what I want.

LOL I hear ya... it is kinda a pain to keep swapping all the time...but we do it anyway. My 17s don't ride anywhere near as rough as my 18s...damn those things are bad.
