Racing Beat is here
#2
Just got back from my shop with the Racing Beat installed.
First impressions:
1. Looks awesome. hard to tell it's not a factory exhaust. Just a bit bigger and a lot shinier.
2. It's quiet.. the sound appears to be a bit deeper but I honestly don't notice it a lot. My intake seems to still contribute the majority of the increase in sound level.
3. I like it!
4. Thanks to Mitch from Protege5online for all his help. He was very helpful in getting the exhaust and was prompt in replying to my endless emails asking about delivery and everything else. If you are looking to get the exhaust or anything else from him I would say don't hesitate. First class company.
Whoooo hooooo!!!!!
Now my quest for a header begins... along with the intake and exhaust cams.
BTW thanks to those on this forum who helped make my decision with their opinions and pictures of the various cat-back exhausts.

Thanks Karen!
I think I'll probably order them in the next couple of weeks. I'm gonna get the dealer to put them on to ensure my fumble fingers don't ruin the job. Out of curiosity did you look at after market cam gears or am I just falling under the influence of the shiny adds in the car mags?
thanks,
Dave
PS Found a local installer for the Katzkins!!!!!

Tripoint Engineering makes adjustable cams gears for the 99+ proteges. I bought one of the first waves of them and they didn't not work with the Hal Sensor but that has been remidied and the gears now work. They run $299 a set give Mark at Tripoint a call and he can hook you up with a set.
