Ractive Intake tuned

Last week I got an specially made extension for my Ractive intake from a Mazda tuner shop. They cut, bended and welded stainless steel piping to make the existing Ractive intake setup into a cold air setup much like the Injen CAI. The also secured the new inakte using an additional bracket. The intake has more of a throaty growl and the throttle response is even better. What I'm glad is that there is no more intake rattle when accelerating since the ol intake was previously secured by a flimsy kit provided bracket and I couldn't find anyone to make a new one. I can say that the car feels faster, lurching more eagerly than before. But before I do any dyno testing, it is just my opinion.

The main reason I swiched to this setup is mainly because I wanted the engine to have access to cooler air, even in stop and go traffic, and that the edge of the filter rubbed against the rad hose, leaving both a bit damaged. The intake got piping hot also because of this contact.

Anyone interested can contact a-spec tuning. The specialize Mazda tuning especially of RX7s. They do everything from engine swaps, to turbo installs and upgrades, paint work etc. Great and friendly service. Below is their website.

Fantastic!! I'm actually considering doing the same. My uncle has access to a mandrel bender so we're going to fabricate another piece of pipe to run it down into the wheel well.

So you say that it's even throatier than it was when it was under the hood? Amazing...

Do you have pics of the final results? How much would a-spec charge for the same piece of pipe?

Thanks!
