rough idle?

rough idle?

need your help,, jumped my wifes car last night and the next time i start my mp5, i get a rough idle and a cel?? i reset the ecu and now it's seems a bit better, but i still get a near stalling type idle, any ideas, oh, the cel is gone. thanks!

hmmm actually yesterday i was getting a rough idle too, not a MIL, but it was idling rough, hmmm let me go start it up right now, and see what happens, if it still idles rough, then ima reset the ecu, hmm what was it again, disconnect the negative terminal
and push the brakes 5 times.... well i'll try it in an hour, i'm too lazy right now hehe

umm i think you just have to press the brake till the lights go out

it just drains the residual power in the system

did that work? i have cel now, and it still runs real rough. so i should disonnect the - cable, step on the brake 5 times or hold it down???? thanks, joe

well, i reset the ecu again, stepped on the brake and all...and the rough idle is still there. it did clear the cel! it actually crapped out on me in rush hour traffic tonight on the way home from work. any suggestions.
