Rough idling

Rough idling
About 3 months ago I was sitting in a traffic jam and my idling speed almost went to like 100 RPM and it almost stalled but then it reved up again. I complained to the dealership about this and guy told me that they checked the engine but no error codes.
After that it used to happen on and off when i am at a red light.
but just yesterday it started happening more frequently more like every time I come to a red light my engine goes down to 100 rpm and back up again. Almost seems like its on a timer or something.
Everything is stock except I installed a custom RAM air intake about 2 months ago.
If any of you have had the same problem I would lile to here about it.
And any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds to me like your IAC valve is dirty and getting stuck. if your vacuum lines had a leak it would pull up a 401 or a 402. could also be that with your home made intake that either your sucking up tomuch air cause of a leak in the intake or something similiar to that and the MAF is freaking out and confusing the ecu to add to much fuel. if your checking for vacuum leaks look at the boots of the lines and check to see if any of them are warped at all, put if there is a vacuum leak it sohuld pull a code

did you happen to have the a/c running, or was the fan just turning on? the car will drop rpm's when the fan or the a/c compressor kicks in. the stock tachometers are sometimes off, so it may just have felt like it was gonna stall but the rpms may not have actually been that low.

dipping idle
Same problem here. The idle would drop when sitting for a extended period of time with the stock intake and with my aftermarket intake installed, With fan off and on, with a/c off. No problems when the a/c is on.

same problem....SOLVED!!!
Throtle valve, the engine is sucking too much air, I just adjusted the opening of the trottle valve and test a new setting everyday, until today, now is much more responsive and idle is at 800rpm+-

Same problem and getting worse. So, where is the adjustment for the throttle valve and details on finding the best setting? I don't have time to take it to the dealer.

no i was reading it right it did drop down quite low may be not 100RPM but it went down till it almost stalled and RPMs were done there.
Anyways having said that I took my custom air intake out and reinstalled it and the problem is gone.
Could the temprature probe that goes in the intake have anything to do with the problem? If it wasn't sitting in all the way.
Because i put my intake back in exactly the same as it was before. So i am a bit confused.

Hey Tattu - Did you disconnect your battery? I also took of all the intake stuff from the air cleaner box forward and my 5 idles like crap. I think I read you need to reset the computer by disconnecting the battery when changing intakes. mmmm just a thought. I will try the battery thing tonight.

OK - Last night I disconnected my battery for about 5 minutes. After putting 50 miles on the Flyer with sitting at the gate for 15 minutes to get into work, it idles much better. It still drops but only 100 RPM or so from the normal 800 to 850 RPM. No more dropping until it almost stalls. It is still going to the dealer when I get time......time ... what's that......
