I am planning on going to the dealer today to buy the mazdaspeed exhaust, unless someone can convince me otherwise. I dont quite understand all the exhaust terms, like catback,etc. What are the benefits/disadvantages of just getting the mazdaspeed exhaust, instead of an entire new exhaust system? Is mazdaspeed a good choice? I have seen many different photos of the mazdaspeed exhaust, is there different versions, and will the dealer has the most current one? Is mazdaspeed all show and no performance? I wondering how loud it actually is, will it turn peoples heads as you drive by or what? The main thing is I dont want to spend alot of money, my friend forked out over 700 dollars for his civic exhaust. What are good alternatives?

I've installed the exhaust on my P5 about a month ago. From a performance standpoint, don't expect much. From a looks standpoint, it does the trick-it fills the gap full where your tip lies and doesn't stick out from the bumper too much(1\2inch). The sound is lounder on the inside than it is on the outside. Anyway it's not a problem for me, you'll decide for yourself. Overall it's basically just there for looks until I get a full cat-back.
