Stock Exhaust Weight

I ran a number of searches and flipped through my owner's manual, but found no answers. How much does the stock exhaust on the 2002 Protege sedan weigh? By exhaust, I mean the stock cat-back weight. Thanks for any help!

I wonder if anyone knows that answer??
If you want your car to lose weight by putting on a lighter exhaust, or sometihng like that, forget it.

I was just curious if it was heavier or lighter than my new Racing Beat. I'm sure a few pounds won't make a difference. Maybe if I went with titanium it would...but anyways I was just curious.

Most stock mufflers I have seen are in the 25-35 pound range. It is very easy to find a straight through muffler that weighs only 10lbs or so (without going to exotic materials). If the Racing Beat cat-back is of a larger diameter exhaust pipe then while the muffler might be lighter the piping will be heavier.

Changing the muffler to a straight through canister is actually one of the easier ways to lose some weight on a vehicle without spending tons of money (and compromising safety).

why dont you weigh it yourself so you can find out, just take each part off and then add up the weight, if your that concerned

1. It's the middle of winter here just after a heavy snowfall.
2. I don't have a scale.
3. I still need to buy some ramps/jacks of my own.
