Thanks for the 3rd grade lecture

Ya know the lecture about the OEM filter didn't have anything to do with the question I asked. If Mazda made the only or best useable parts then why do you do mods at all on your car? I'm sure both of you self-rightous geeks' cars are not totaly stock. I'm sure the OEM filter is great, but I asked a specific question about a specific company and part. Thanks to the guy who did give me useful info, and thanks for closing the thread so more decent info is impossible.

It's no wonder a bunch of people have left this board, or don't spend nearly the same amount of time here like they used to. It's a shame to have lost a bunch of the resources we once had.

Going back and reading your original post, there was no lecture. If you were offended by that, maybe you're too emotional. All they were saying is try a search. It's amazing how many times the same thing is posted, "what's the best and quietest exhaust, ever?" If searched, I believe the word exhaust come back with over 100 matches. Try a search first, then post.

If you read my original post then you will see that my question was not "What is the best oil filter,?" it was "Does any one know anything about this specific filter or the company that makes it?" I have read most of the other forums on oil filters and I appreciated the advice. I definitely liked the link to the site where that engineer guy took apart all those filters and anylized them. That's why I got so pissed, because they immediatly assumed I was wasting their valuable time and forum space instead of actually reading my question. Maybe I reacted too strongly but I didn't start all that **** stuff. Although I do find it fairly humors. I'm a fair newbie to this forum and get a lot of usefull information from it, but it seems some people are ticked.

I have to agree with Pingdum,

His question was indeed ignored.

In my opinion though, your big paragraph would have been easier if you just separated it all, so that the question was obvious.

indeed. however, i wasn't lecturing, nor were either of the other mods. we were just stating our opinions on the subject. I'm pretty sure Edwin said something relating to your original question about the v6 filter. anywho... untwist them panties and buy an oem filter (again, my opinion!).

See, here's what I'm talking about, that superior attutude. I guess that's just your way, but expect some to not take it lightly.
YestheMan did give me good info, who knows what else I would have learned exept the post was closed. Do you guys just have a limited amount of disk space or something. Why does it bother you if people ask a question instead of spending an hour sorting through old threads that have been dead for 6mos.?

Lightbulb

If someone post a new thread and you dont like it then dont respond, i personally dont mind repeating information to people. For at least the first 2mths i was on this board i never even noticed the search button, if someone has a honest question just answer it nicely or ignore it, it takes just as much time to post " use the search button" as it would to post a little info.

Yep, I have always thought that some of the mods here are extremely ****. I read your initial post, and it defintely seems like you have been another victim of the "sandy vagina mods".

all i can say is "oh my god." first off.. in my initial response, to his initial post... all i said was do a search for the thread about differences in filters, and stated that the oem's are the best to use imho. this was far from a lecture, and i'm not gonna apologize for not fully answering his question because i, know what filter to use for my car. it's not hard to figure out. i know how to read, and if you can... you'd do the search i mentioned, and you'd find all variations of what filters you can including the v6 version, and all that jolly crap. as for us being ****, or disrespectful, or having superior attitudes? my 'untwist and buy a good filter' comment was a friggin joke. maybe you're the **** ones, for not being able to see it. next time i'll post a big god damn sign that says 'I'M JUST F'N KIDDING' or make myself a nice little disclaimer like Jesse that says "Mike is not serious." why i'm explaining myself over this.. i don't know. as for anyone who thinks i don't like sharing information, kiss my . ask any of the mods on this board how pissy i used to get when they'd tell people to search when it could have easily been given out. search my posts chief... you'll find i always answer when i can. as for this topic/thread i believe i posted relevant information to his question because it was about filters to begin with. this is a long response, and i'm done. you can flame all you want about it... it doesnt bother me.
