Timing question
#2
Good question. If i remember correctly you can find out with a timing light, but its been a long time since I've used one.
Of course that only works if you just want to know what the timing 'is'.
Won't work if you need to know what the timing 'was'.
Why you asking? Are you remapping?
If you are, advance it till you hear the knock, then back off a bit. Crude method but it works for me.

You really should get it on a dyno to get the curves right. If you are running off a TPS based reading rather than a MAP reading, it might be tougher to do the curve.
At WOT on my car I have it about 30-34 degrees advanced. Cruising is between 36-42. Idle is 10, decel fuel cut is 43.
May work a little different on the MP3. But with NA cars you can run a little more than on turbo cars.
What computer is it?
