WOOOOOO ... this is going anywhere... ! Everyone here knows about the principe of an intake, if not it has been discusted many many many times on this forum so use the search option !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started this thread to have pics and infos about the Vibrant Intake, but now its like we're in a physic class !!!!!!!!!!!

So Im asking again, any infos or pics on this intake ??????

Nope, no pics. But lemme tell you all about my Short-ram! It's about yay long, and about this wide and it sucks air into my engine. It gave me like 50hp and chicks dig it. Dood! Just ask. I can tell you anything you wanna know about intakes, just by looking at 'em...

Youre not gonna get colder air from a short ram intake than you will with the stock setup. The stock setup has the inlet for air right between the hood and the grill, so it gets more outside air than it does hotter engine bay air. A short ram until your car is up to speed and engine bay air is circulating gets warmer air than stock. And to eliminate some of the air warming from the CAI to the Intake manifold you can wrap it/ insulate the outside of the CAI........Duncan

I don't have any pics of the intake installed on a P5 handy. I do have them, but can't seem to figure out which CD I burned it to. I can tell you, however, that the biggest problem when creating this intake system was the clearance of the brake master cylinder.

The 45 degree silicone elbow is used for two reasons: 1) it ensures that the intake gets maximum clearance from the brake MC and 2) if contact should occur (due to worn engine mounts, extreme vibration or shock for instance) the silicone elbow ensures that no damage will occur to the brake lines.

The intake was designed to put the filter as close as possible to the stock vent from the hood/grill junction. Thus, your engine will receive the most cold air possible from a short-ram design.
