Exactly, the stock 16" wheels, which I think are made by Enkei, are like 16lbs without tires. I don't know the wieght of the Dunlop pizza cutters are but probably not that much...Anything north of forged for 17s will be HEAVY...
I believe my Tecnomagnesio 7 spoke 17" wheels weigh 21lbs each, which is ok...But the 215/40 Parada spec 2's are much heavier than the dunlops, so I picked up a good bit of weight...

as for an ecu upgrade you said something adjustable and i know a jet performance package is not adjustable but they do all of the work for you and retune your ecu according to you mods. YES NO ??? mitch told me about it. its like a 365$$ compleate deal

Don't do a chip upgrade...
specially not from JET.
Try working on your launches first... 2.6-2.7 60foot times are terrible. Also, the lightweigth flywheel makes your 1/4 times slower.. it'll really help if you ever go turbo though.

Justin do some research on decent programmable stand alone ECU's or at least some kind of programmable piggy back such as an E-Manage or Unichip...Some claim that these more expensive piggy back systems are enough to crack the stock computer, but the only dude I knew of using one on a 3rd gen was forced to sell it becuase of his wife...
