Sounds more like it, but still heavy as hell! You would be MUCH better off to stick with your stock rims (from a performance standpoint). Think of the horsepower wasted in just trying to spin those things!

Exactly, the stock 16" wheels, which I think are made by Enkei, are like 16lbs without tires. I don't know the wieght of the Dunlop pizza cutters are but probably not that much...Anything north of forged for 17s will be HEAVY...

I believe my Tecnomagnesio 7 spoke 17" wheels weigh 21lbs each, which is ok...But the 215/40 Parada spec 2's are much heavier than the dunlops, so I picked up a good bit of weight...

I had Rota Mantis rims on my old Saturn. 17" x 7" were also 21lbs.

Don't do a chip upgrade...
specially not from JET.

Try working on your launches first... 2.6-2.7 60foot times are terrible. Also, the lightweigth flywheel makes your 1/4 times slower.. it'll really help if you ever go turbo though.

Chris explained the flywheel thing earlier in the thread, they will not hurt your 1/4 time, just make it more difficult to launch properly...So that could be also why his 60ft times were so bad...he just needs to practice with it more...

Justin do some research on decent programmable stand alone ECU's or at least some kind of programmable piggy back such as an E-Manage or Unichip...Some claim that these more expensive piggy back systems are enough to crack the stock computer, but the only dude I knew of using one on a 3rd gen was forced to sell it becuase of his wife...

Hmmm...my friend ran a 16.3 in has '02 P5. All he has done is exhaust. He even had his huge stereo in the car at the time. Maybe it's just where or how you shift? How you launch?
