so

Civic Si

90.5/111(TQ) = 18.4684684684684684684684684685% loss

Protege(5)
103.6/130 (HP) = 20.3076923076923076923076923077% loss
113.8/135 (TQ) = 15.7037037037037037037037037038% loss

so that means that the protege's lose less power than the Si throught the drive train? is that correct?

it's not clear what the si had for mods or what FM did to it.

the new si-r is 160hp. i'm looking for the 2000 specs. i believe the si was rated at around 130. not sure.

i know that the 2002 Cavaliar LS Sport has 150 at the crank and puts 140 to the ground. Well at least thats what an aticle in SCC said.

Remember Too...

that dyno numbers can be misleading. Whille correction to sea level at a standard temp is supposed to allow numbers to be compared fairly, Fact is, when conditions change, so does power output. Maybe Kieth can elaborate more on what kind of numbers they are seeing, but unless you're in the same zip code, take them all with a grain of salt. A car or bike that runs mid to high 10 seconds in the quarter mile at 3000 ft of elevation can easily pick up a half second at sea level...

We always quote our numbers corrected for sea level, using the Dynojet correction factors. These are quite accurate for supercharged and naturally aspirated cars, but for cars with electronic boost control there's no easy way to correct.

That Civic that's on our website was sick when it got here - we merely gave it back the power it should have had. Seems to happen a lot with the local Hondas - we haven't had one on the dyno yet that was running properly. It had cam gears and some Venom box on it. Pulling the Venom box helped a lot, and we just set the cam gears up.

The last one of THOSE we had on the dyno puked coolant all over the place.

maybe it was sick

Ok well, I see a 1.8 turbo drop into my 96 would make it a very quick sleeper, and its in a pretty reasonable price range for engines. Rotary on the other hand.........
