who has a Ractive intake?

I hate the fit of my AEM short ram so I want to try another intake.
How is the fit of the Ractive intake? quality? Does it use a K&N filter or a foam filter?
Also, where can I get one?
Thanks

I have it. I think the fit is even worse than the AEM one. It puts the filter right next to the rad hose and the rad fans, which is IMO not a very good idea. There have also been issues with the intake rubbing against the master brake cylinder but that has been solved. I think the intake wasn't even designed for the 2.0 Pros. The kit use a a very good a large Ractive cone KN like filter. It has a velocity stack also.

If you can afford it, get the Injen or you get a custom setup. I'm getting a custom setup that uses some of my existing components of my Ractive intake for a cold air setup.

if you have a 2.0 L Protege auto, you will need the intake for the 1.8 L Proteges (part# 22-480). The fit is terrible!!! The intake was designed for the 1.8 L engine, not the 2.0 L engine, therefore the fit is far from perfect.

I recently installed a Ractive intake and I am happy with it. Here is the link to the pics in the regional section of this board:

Ractive intakes

As others have said there are issues with the fit but you can work around that. I have seen an AEM intake installed and it is interesting how it is attached. Okay more positive but I am concerned with the tab that locks the lower pipe. This tab attaches to the support for the overflow bottle for the rad. I saw how much my Ractive intake moves so I wonder if the rubber connectors of the AEM, which by the way look very similar to the Ractive ones, can absorb that large amount of movement. One of the local guys has it installed and he is happy so time will tell with both of us I guess. Oh the Ractive is supported by a bar to the engine only and thus moves with the engine.

As for performance increase, I did notice a little bit more responsiveness in the lower gears but overall it is difficult to tell. I also got the Ractive because it was cheaper, that way it frees up more cash for more mods.
