03 MP5 for sale
Hey guys I am putting my 03 Mp5 up for sale. It kills me to sell it but I must. I have a baby due in about a week and I could really use my $365 monthly car payment, I know I got screwed on my loan. My boss gave me a 95 Subaru Legacy for free so I can save money. My car is a laser blue 03 with a cai and lowjack. It runs great, only problems are a few door dings. I was thinking about selling it for 10k, good price? I do love my car and I will miss it but I love my baby more.

How many miles on it?
Any rust?
10k would be almost a good price if it was like.. 3k miles and mint, no rust. I bought mine on Feb 2004 for 10999 with 7k miles on it, completely mint --from a dealer. Maybe I got a really good deal on it (it was some sort of holiday weekend that gave 2k off the price of any car on the lot) and I'm jaded, but I was buying a car that by production date (June 2002) wasn't even two years old yet, with single digit thousands of miles, from a dealer, with warranty, etc. Your car is twice as old, probably has significantly higher mileage, etc.
Just quickly running the numbers on an 03 with 55000 miles (just a guess, I would expect a little higher) and in 'good' condition (door dings = not excellent, hundreds of dollars of body work) they say $9400. Your number isn't too bad in that case, but I don't see them selling over 8k private seller (and haven't in a year or more).

no rust.. niiice. If I had the time I'd put my car back to stock, sell it (it's a 2002.5 with 92k miles so I'd only get like 6k selling it), buy your car, and transfer my mods to it I'm in my fourth year of college so I barely have time to do anything fun.
I hope you find a seller quickly!
Congrats on the baby!

If anyone knows about getting screwed it's this guy. I bought mine for 9k from a dealer, not mint but in good condition. (I wanted to spruce it up anyhow) but my trade it killed it all to hell. I still owed alot on it and it jacked the price up to about 13,200. Yeah, so don't feel too bad. Hope it sells dude. Also, congrats on the baby.

I know I wouldn't buy a car with any mods on it, unless I got a huge discount

Thank you guys for the help! I listed it on craigslist for $9,500 and go from there. My only hope is the rich people here in Boulder spend money like its nothing. A part of me doesnt want it to sell because I love it so much. I should just put my son to work right away to help me with the payments!
