The mazda website says that the 2003 MP5 has 4 lamps in the headlight area and also the black treatment is standard for headlight housing.

My questions: What do they consider the 4 headlamp? Also where is the black treatment for US models? I saw them in Canada.

 

nope......like you said, it's only for canadian models.

 

I think they're referring to the low beam, high beam, parking lamp, and ticker.
