2003 Protege 5 : Dash removal & alarm LED location?

Hi, all.

I researched the past wk into car alarms for my new, used P5, hoping to pull off a DIY stunt. Lack of diagrams and clear instructions finally led me down the retail path. :-(

Today, I picked up a DEI Avital 2100 w/ installation at Future Shop.

So, this is purely an academic exercise, but can anyone shed some light please on how to disassemble the dash (driver, console, and passenger) of the P5 to reveal components?

Also, Where is the 'usual' place for the factory alarm LED? What locations do you guys recommend, and how can i install it there?

Thanks.
Danny

i installed my alarm into the factory keyless entry system that is located the truck area of my car (on the p5 i think it's under the dash) near the footwell. I put the LED on the bezel trim that goes around the shifter just below the cup holders I think it looks good there and if you want to pull out the alarm if you sell the car it's cheaper to replace that piece then if you install it in other areas on the car.
