2003 protege 5 stereo removal???

i'm having problems removing the stereo from my 2003 protege5. i got the dash piece loose, but i can't pull it out down by the heater / ac controls. any help would be appreciated, thanks!~

you dont need to mess with the surround to remove the stereo. Do a search on the forum before tearing into your dash next time.


All you do is pop off the side covers of the stereo and use some butterknives to squeeze the radio out. It's a 3 minute job tops.

Dont listen to him, grab one end, and then the other, and finally plant your right foot on the dash and pull, like you have never pulled before, and presto

I used the easy way...

1. Park your car in a suspicious lot
2. Leave your doors unlocked
3. Wait overnight

It works everytime! Hell, it works so well, that other things besides your radio are removed the next day!

thats the "urban removal" method. I've used that one several times before in my last apaprtment complex.

@dedncyde-I'm new in this thread thing. I own a 2003 p5 and I am working on removing the radio because my cd player has stopped working all of a sudden. Once I figure out a decent way of removing it I can let you know.
